New Article on the East Coast Broccoli Project

Thank you to local organic farmer, Michael Porterfield, for passing this article on to me about the broccoli project we are involved in!  It is published here on  We are making plans for next year's studies. We will have big trials again at the Mountain Research Station in Waynesville and be working closely with a farmer in Henderson County.  In addition, we will be repeating our organic broccoli variety trials in the certified organic research unit on the same research station.

  1. Don't forget; the green leafy parts do not need to be, nor should not be discarded ! as they are just as good, if not better for you than the heads themselves ! Perfect in Stir-Frys and mixed in with other veggies as well! : )
